The first time it was spoken about building a chapel in this place is in a protocol from Tierp north. It was on a congregation meeting on March 31, 1902.
A proposal was submitted by the south congregation, which together with the north congregation formed Tierp free congregation, to build a chapel in the vicinity of Munga or Elingbo, which was approved. The same year in the autumn, the south congregation announced that they did not wish to participate in the construction. The north congregation then decided, in consultation with the people in the Elingbo district, to build on a place that the people in the area decided.
An offer came from L. Johansson, from Öndebo, about a land that he was willing to give for free. It was agreed to build on that location in Öndebo, which was stated and they began digging and laying the foundation the same year. As everything took a long time and the work was largely done by volunteers, even non-members, the chapel was ready for inauguration not until December 11, 1904.
As already mentioned, an independent congregation was formed in 1919 and it can be said that the first board consisted of: chairman Lars-Erik Edin, manager Gerhard Johansson, treasurer Lars Johansson.
The Sunday school probably already existed when the chapel was built. The first Sunday school teacher that is mentioned in the protocol was Johannes Widén in 1908. The one who has worked most for the Sunday school in this congregation is well, the now departed Lars-Erik Edin, who stood as Sunday School director, almost uninterrupted in the years 1910-1930.
A strength, especially for the economy, in the congregation is the sewing association where the people of the countryside have always worked and worked diligently, a tradition that still lives today.
The congregation had a pastor together with Tierp south congregation.

Första gången det talas om att bygga ett missionshus på denna plats, är i ett protokoll från Tierps norra. Det var ett församlingsmöte den 31 mars 1902.
Ett förslag förelåg från södra församlingen, som då tillsammans med norra, utgjorde Tierps friförsamling, att bygga ett missionshus i trakten av Munga eller Elingbo, vilket bifölls. Samma år på hösten meddelade södra församlingen att de icke önskade deltaga i bygget. Norra församlingen beslöt då att i samråd med vännerna i Elingbo krets bygga på en plats som vännerna på orten bestämde.
Ett erbjudande kom från L. Johansson, Öndebo, om en tomt som han var villig att gratis upplåta. Man enades om att bygga på den plats i Öndebo, som angivits och man började gräva och lägga grund samma år. Som allting tog lång tid och arbetena i stor utsträckning utfördes av frivilliga, även icke medlemmar, stod huset färdigt för invigning först den 11 december 1904.
Som redan nämnts så bildades självständig församling 1919 och det kan nämnas att den första styrelsen bestod av: ordf. Lars Erik Edin, föreståndare Gerhard Johansson, kassör Lars Johansson.
Söndagsskola fanns troligen redan då missionshuset byggdes. Den första söndagsskollärare, som omtalas i protokoll var Joh. Widén år 1908. Den som väl arbetat mest för söndagsskolan i denna församling är väl, den nu hemgångne, Lars Erik Edin som stod som söndagsskolföreståndare nästan oavbrutet åren 1910-1930.
En styrka, särskilt för ekonomin, i församlingen utgör syföreningen där bygdens folk alltid varit med och arbetat flitigt, en tradition som lever kvar ännu idag.
Församlingen har pastor tillsammans med Tierps södra Missionsförsamling.
